Juice

I'm adding some fresh juice to the menu today. I used to juice a lot, but now only a few times a week. I have the Omega Vert slow juicer. Love that thing, and I highly recommend it. It is really quiet and powerful.

Boxing today too. I am still a little sore. I hope I'm not sore very soon:)

I struggled last night again. It seems the lights go out, the tv goes on, the family goes to sleep, and I go to the kitchen. Ahhhhh. As I've said many times, I'm a work in progress, I don't expect perfection. But still. Enough already.....It's getting old. I'm trying to save some fruit or something for the night.

Onto the good stuff. I noticed I was eating a lot of the same stuff every day. Well, for me, it's safe. I know I get the nutrition and it doesn't take much thought. Right now, it's working, but I know I will have to switch it up occasionally. Like today, I'm adding almonds. Mmmmm.

-Pineapple
-Melon
-Salad w/ sweet thai chili dressing
-Broccoli, brown rice, and tamari
-Juice concoction: apple, romaine, celery, ginger, and lemon
-Yogurt, apple butter, flax seeds
-Coffee w/ half and half and sugar
-23 Almonds
-Green tea and water

Total: 1643

I think I'll save the melon for snacky tonight. It's light and it should only be eaten by itself so it doesn't slow digestion of other foods and ferment.

  1. how many calories do you think there are in your juice? or fresh green juice in general? you know what you should do, when you want to venture into the kitchen tonight: come blog, cause I love your blog, and i'm sure you can get some good stuff out.

  2. For the juice, I just put it in regularly, like I'm using two apples, and since they don't have the juices in the CRON-o-meter, I just take the calories like that. It throws off fiber, but the calories are pretty close. That's why I don't juice a whole lot lot, it's pretty calorie dense. Nutritious, but dense. About late nights, that's an awesome idea! I will consider it:)

  3. Okay - thank you! Your bloggy has inspired me (especially the beginning blog days) for some major juicing - which i've been neglecting. Now that the cals are semi - established, it's time for the kale to meet the apple in liquid form!

  4. What I do for juice is modify the CRON-O-Meter entry to take out the fiber. Since carbs are 4 calories per gram, I then adjust the calories for the less fiber. It's not exact, but I feel like it's better than adding the foods whole.
