I'm just going to give my food for the day. I have a pretty busy morning w/ doc appointments and schlepping the baby around (why do I still call him the baby??? He's 3). I'll be back with more later, gator.
-Banana/pineapple smoothie. Just whirled with water.
-coffee w/ sugar and half and half
-plain yogurt w/ apple butter and flaxseeds
-spinach, cucumber, tomato salad w/ lemon tahini dressing
-athena melon....new from the store, never seen it before, looks like a cantaloupe and a honeydew had a baby
-borscht (beets, celery, carrots boiled with a little water, little sugar, and red wine vinegar, then blended)
-pack of shirataki noodles
-marinara sauce
-broccoli
-homemade vinaigrette
-reduced fat feta
-loads of green tea and water
I'm trying to cut back on the sugar today, so I'm going to choke down the tea without sugar. Wish me luck!

On the low side, but it's a lot of food it seems, I'll figure it out later, maybe an apple with some peanut butter?

Try stevia as a sugar substitute. I not a fan of "unsweet" tea either. Probably a function of my southern heritage, but I just don't like unsweet tea.
ReplyDeleteYou may have to play with the amounts some. I've been using the stuff for over 5 years, so I am accustom. Also, different brands mix in different ways.
If you are interested, maybe try some of the individual packet boxes first. Those seem to be a good way to ease into stevia use.
I'm 100% Polish and can you please please please repost your borscht recipe. I read about it in your earliest posts, but would love to know the latest greatest! :)
ReplyDeleteSie-I've heard of stevia, I just have yet to try it. Will do!
ReplyDeleteAg-Your Polish??? My fiance is 1/2 Russian, 1/2 Polish! The recipe is actually from his mother. We also make a traditional Christmas meal called vegelya (sp?), it's a clear beet broth with beef and mushroom dumplings floating in. So good! I also make what I call borscht 'juice' in my juicer. I love beets.
Aw - I'm 100% polish - off the boat and all. Wigilia is my favorite day, and yes - beets are amazing. As are all shrooms, and basically everything that night.
ReplyDeleteI tried Stevia, and didn't love it. But I love Truvia, also pretty natural (I think!)
